My friend Stitch tells always tells me where to go, pointing his tail in the right direction. ‘That way….!’

I have been filming for more than 40 years, but only in the last decade I found my real passion in filming and photographing in Unesco World Heritage the Wadden sea and it’s islands. [click here for more information]

Often accompanied by my friend Stitch, my family and/or friends of photography and video we have visited the islands many times. Meeting wonderful people, visiting events and special places on the islands I try to capture the beauty of nature and the stories of the people who live there.

We have visited the islands Texel, Vlieland, Terschelling, Ameland, Schiermonnikoog and Rottumeroog many times. Each island is different and they all have their own unique stories. The Wadden Sea and it’s island is the largest unbroken system of intertidal sand and mud flats in the world and we are lucky it’s almost on our doorstep.

Texel, Vlieland, Terschelling, Ameland and Schiermonnikoog have more than enough accommodations for tourists. Even in the most busiest times of the seasons you can still find a place on the islands where you can walk around alone, with the warmth of the sun on your face and nothing but fresh air and the relaxing sounds of mother nature in your ears. During the summer none of the islands allow cars on their beaches. There is only a few ways to move around: by boat, foot or bike.

This is the place where I work with my with camera’s, each of them specialised in making unique images. On land, under water, in flight or capture everything in 360. I have worked many times with each of the camera’s in the field to get the best results. Back home I enjoy developing the best workflows for my photo an video material so I can share them in magazines and online.

In 40 years much has changed in camera techniques and software. Still, one thing stayed the same in all those years: telling the story. Combined with the best music from Epidemic Sound I present my video stories online via my Youtube channel and you can find many of my photo’s on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

The video below is called ‘The Horizontal Waterfall’ which you will see when you travel by boat to one of the islands.

Enjoy the journey!
